Love to Travel? The Benefits Are Priceless!

The number of people who today have access to airline travel has put the great cities of the world within reach of more people than ever before. The increasing number of low cost airlines means that competition is driving down prices and with so many great deals out there - it has never been cheaper to travel!
Visiting a Taipei hostel opens your eyes to what exists outside of your bubble and exposes you to how other people live. I love to see the world, it opens your mind to new things, and not only provides you with a well deserved break from your normal routine, but it can be a life learning experience.
Leave your worries behind
Travelling allows you to disconnect for a short period from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine. Getting away lets you focus on yourself and allows for perspective. We all have things we worry about in our lives, getting away from it provides clarity, if the issue is not going to make a difference to your life then it's not worth dwelling upon.

Recharge, refresh, revitalise!
It's an opportunity for you to relax and do only the things that you want. If you want to sit in the sun all day, you can! It's a fantastic stress remover and it's a chance to return recharged, re-energised and revitalised, ready to get back to your normal routine fully charged and motivated.

Learn and widen your perspective
This is one of my top reasons why I love to travel. There is nothing a book or TV program can tell you or show you that comes close to being there and living the moment in person. I've seen pictures of the ancient temples in Mexico but seeing it, feeling it and climbing to the top of that thing is on a whole new level! It's in those moments as you're absorbing the breathtaking views, you realise how wonderful life is, how magnificent the world is and any problems you think you have is just a small drop in a vast ocean.
You get to try foods you have never heard of, navigate unfamiliar territory and meet people you never would have the opportunity to otherwise. You build your personality as you learn something new in every place you visit; it really is the best education (in my opinion!)

Be more adventurous
I wouldn't say I'm the first out of my friends to suggest trying something new at home, however when away from home, you're sort of forced to try new things, there may never be another chance! You let yourself get outside your comfort zone and you become more adventurous and do things you never thought existed, for example I had never heard of volcano boarding until I visited Nicaragua in Central America, and you never know, you could end up discovering a new passion or even a new career!

Become more appreciative and focused
Seeing different social classes will make you become more grateful and blessed for what you have, not just in a sense of having more than them, but you realise it is the simple things in life that are important. Many of the locals you meet own very little, yet live life full of abundance, love and happiness. You also become more focused on what you do and do not want in your life.
Memories for life
Experiences are what stay with you, your emotions can change instantly with just the thought of that experience or place. If travelling with others, it cements a special bond with one another, these are the times you will always reflect upon and these special moments you will share for a lifetime.
"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"
I've been on many trips in my life, from a few days in Europe to months in Central America. I've stayed in high end hotels and I've backpacked and roughed it in hostels. I've scuba diver in the blue seas of Thailand and I've snowboarded down the mountains of the Alps. I don't think there is any other experience where you will learn so much about yourself or other people. You get to meet so many different people from different cultures and it provides you with a whole new perspective on life. Not only is there the sense of adventure but the exposure to a world outside of your own is what I love.
Everyone should make time to see the world once in a while, the benefits are invaluable. You will become enriched on so many levels, you'll expand your mind and build a library of new experiences, and you will thank yourself for it in years to come.
